Client Challenge:
Increase foot traffic in select Metro Detroit Metro PCS stores with an incentivized marketing approach and partnership with 98.7 AMP Radio
Solution:
Include Metro PCS' Westland location in a series of ticket drops for 98.7 AMP Radio's December 2009 Kringle Jingle concert, an exclusive show starring teen idol Justin Bieber that requires listeners to win their way in. Use a strategic combination of on-air commercials, website exposure, and social networking to promote the event, appealing to both teen and adult demographics.
Results:
On the day of the event, 98.7 AMP Radio listeners began lining up outside the Metro PCS Westland store around 5am (the event took place from noon-2pm). The AMP Takeover Team gave away Kringle Jingle tickets every 15 minutes while the store remained crowded with listeners. Metro PCS staff were able to distribute their own marketing materials to a large audience of active participants. View photos from the event here.
